Dr. Derek Mason is an Assistant Professor of Radiology who specializes in Cardiac and Thoracic Imaging. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in biology at UCLA, Dr. Mason completed his medical education at New York Medical College in 2003. After a transitional year at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, he pursued his Diagnostic Radiology residency training at Jacobi Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating in 2008. He then completed his fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Radiology at Columbia University. He joined the NYU School of Medicine faculty in 2009.
Dr. Mason is a member of both the Thoracic Imaging and Cardiac Imaging divisions. His research interests include lung cancer screening, management of pulmonary nodules, and coronary CTA in the acute setting.
