Dr. Emily R. Herrington, PhD, is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. She received her Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh. She served as a Public Humanities Fellowship to work at the Senator John Heinz History Center on its exhibition of medical innovation in Pittsburgh. With experience as a writer, editor, and teacher, Dr. Herrington served as the Program Coordinator for the Center’s Research Ethics and Society Initiative (RESI) during its start-up phase. The initiative seeks to create a conversation on campus about scientific research ethics and the implications of research at the University, and she developed the materials for the RESI website and designed curriculum plans for several schools and departments. Her research interests include Molecular Biology, Bioethics, Oral History, Rhetorical Analysis, Biomedicine, and Evolutionary Biology.
