Dr. Giuseppe Spinoglio was Director of the General and Oncological Surgery Unit and Director of the Surgery Department at the SS Antonio e Biagio and C Arrigo Hospital (Alessandria) until May 2014. He was Director of the development project and robotic training first at Humanitas Rozzano and then at San Pio XD until May 2016. Until December 2018 he was Director of the Division of Digestive Surgery and of the Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Digestive Program of the European Institute of Oncology in Milan; until December 2020 he was Director of the Robotic Colorectal and Digestive Surgery Program and Training Candiolo Cancer Institute FPO IRCCS of Candiolo-Turin.
He is currently a member of the Colorectal Faculty of IRCAD Strasbourg France. Dr. Spinoglio is a proctor for colorectal robotic surgery for Intuitive and ESCP (European Society of Colo Proctology). He is Head of the Robotic Surgery Digestive and Colorectal System at Columbus Clinic Center Milan
He was the Director of the Special School of Robotic Surgery SIC (Italian Society of Surgery). He is co-founder and co-director of the European Academy of Robotic Colorectal Surgery (EARCS)
Dr. Spinoglio is a Member of SRS (Society of Robotic Surgery), ACS (American College of Surgeons), and many other Scientific Societies, Co-Founder and Board Member of ISFGS (International Society of Image Guied Surgery), and Founder and ex-President of CRSA (Association of Clinical Robotic Surgery).
Dr. Spinoglio's main interest is Oncological Surgery, also through minimally invasive approaches such as laparoscopy and predominantly robotic techniques. Colorectal Surgery, Gastric Surgery, and ICG Fluorescence Image Guided Surgery have been his two main fields of interest and scientific investigation in recent years.
He is regarded by the world community of surgeons as a pioneer of robotic surgery and serves as a tutor in schools, courses, and hospitals in Europe. His Surgical Division has been identified by Intuitive as the Epicenter for Robotic Digestive Surgery Education.
