Hans Blaauwgeers MD

Hans Blaauwgeers is a practicing pathologist at the OLVG LAB BV in Amsterdam. The OLVG LAB BV provides pathology services for several hospitals in the region (Flevoziekenhuis Almere, BovenIJ Ziekenhuis Amsterdam, OLVG location Oost and West), as well as for several independent treatment centers. Since January 2021 the Department of Pathology of Tergooi Ziekenhuis in Hilversum had become part of the Pathology Department of OLVG LAB BV.

He graduated from the Medical School of the Erasmus University Rotterdam and completed his residency in pathology at the Academic Medical Centre (AMC) of the University in Amsterdam.

He was a clinical teacher in pathology for several residents in the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis in collaboration with the AMC for more than 15 years.

He was a subeditor for the pathology of the Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Geneeskunde (2008-2015). Since 2008 he was treasurer and since 2011 president-elect of the Dutch Society of Pathology (NVVP). From 2012-2015 he was president of this society and from 2015-2016 past- president and again treasurer. He was until 2016 for 8 years member of the Board of Trustees of the nationwide histopathology and cytopathology network and archive PALGA.

Since 2017 he's been a member of the Legal Committee of the NVVP.
