Hasan Yazici MD

Dr. Hasan after graduating from Robert College (Academy) sum Cum Laude in 1963 got his MD degree from the University of Istanbul, Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in 1969. Between 1969-74 he did specialty and subspecialty training in medicine and rheumatology at Nebraska and Creighton Universities in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.

Dr. Hasan returned to Istanbul in 1974 board-certified both in internal medicine and rheumatology and started his life-long career at his alma mater both as the founder of the then unique multidisciplinary Behçet’s disease (BD) outpatient clinic (1977), and the division of rheumatology (1978). His main research interests are BD, vasculitis, and clinical research methodology and ethics. Prof. Yazici has published widely on BD and currently is the most cited author on BD (Web of Knowledge).
Prof. Yazici has just retired. He continues to conduct and advise clinical research on a voluntary basis at the University of Istanbul and continues to be the chairperson of the Ethics Committee of the same university.
