Hector Mayani PhD, BSc, MSc

Dr. Mayani obtained his B.Sc. (Biology) and M.Sc. (Cell Biology) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and his Ph.D. from the University of Alberta at Edmonton, Canada. He did a postdoctoral training at the Terry Fox Laboratory (Vancouver, Canada) and was visiting Scientist at the Department of Hematology, Heath Hospital, Cardiff, U.K. His research is focused on the in vitro biology of cord blood-derived hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, with particular emphasis on their expansion. He has published over 100 scientific articles on the biology of hematopoietic cells, and he was one of the founders of the IMSS Cord Blood Bank
