Dr. Ines Frederix is a physician Specialist in training at UZA. She successfully completed the MaNaMa Cardiology in 2022 (Antwerp University). She completed the Postgraduate Course Heart Failure (PCHF) Online in 2021 (University of Zurich).

In 2018, Ines successfully completed her joint PhD (Hasselt University & Antwerp University): "Cardiac telerehabilitation: a novel, cost-efficient care delivery strategy in secondary prevention for ischemic heart disease?".

She completed the certified Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership Program in 2017 (Harvard Medical School).

Ines completed her Bachelor's in Medicine at Hasselt University in 2010 (Maxima cum laude) and her Master's in Medicine at KULeuven in 2014 (Summa cum laude).

Ines has been an elected nucleus member of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (2016-2022). She has been an elected nucleus member of the ESC Working Group on e-Cardiology (2018-2022). She has been secretary of the Belgian Working Group of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (2017 - 2021).

She (co-)authored the ESC e-Cardiology Position Paper on digital health implementation in cardiovascular medicine, the European Position Paper on challenges of secondary prevention in ischemic heart disease, the Belgian Working Group of Cardiovascular Prevention & Rehabilitation Position Paper on the role of cardiac rehabilitation in vocational reintegration after an acute cardiovascular event, the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC) position paper on standardization and quality improvement of secondary prevention through the EAPC accreditation program.

Ines is a European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider. She is certified by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography. She passed the Heart Failure Certification exam, organized by the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).
