Muhammad Iqbal Afridi MBBS, MCPS, FACP, FCPS, FRCP

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Afridi is currently serving as Dean, of the Faculty of Psychiatry, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan; Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center; Faculty of Medicine, Jinnah Sindh Medical University. He is also heading the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. Besides his multifarious assignments, he holds the portfolio of the President, of the Pakistan Psychiatry Society, Membership of several bodies including the European Psychiatric Association; Sindh Mental Health Authority; Sindh Healthcare Commission; and the A.Q. Khan Institute of Behavioral Sciences. Prof. Afridi accomplishments have been recognized through Fellowships of American Psychiatric Association and Royal Society of Medicine, UK. 

During his professional career, Prof. Afridi distinguished services got recognized with numerous awards including Life Achievement Award on World Mental Health Day, 2001,Legends of Matli Award 2006, Sir Shah Sulaiman Peace Award 2006 , Zikerya Award, in the field of Medical Science for the year 2000, Pride of performance awarded by St. John Homeopathic Medical College, 1995, DAYTOP Graduate Award by US Embassy, & ANF(PNCB) Islamabad, “Avicenna Research Award” in the international psychiatric conference, 1988. Besides an accomplished clinical psychiatrist and mental disease expert Prof. Afridi contributes significantly in scientific research including participation in national and international courses and conferences related to General Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine (CLP) & Addictionology.
