Dr. Iris Zhao received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy in 2013 and went on to complete a PGY1 residency at City of Hope National Medical Center. Now at UC Davis Medical Center, Dr. Zhao leads the Oncology Specialty Pharmacy Services, a pharmacist-driven oral anti-cancer therapy adherence program that utilizes pharmacists to serve as providers. The collaborative practice agreement in place with the Division of Hematology/Oncology authorizes pharmacists to prescribe supportive care medications to better monitor and manage patients’ side effects.
