Dr. James J. Weber is the Founder and CEO of The GI Alliance, a network of best-in-class gastroenterologists who have joined together to provide superior clinical outcomes for patients. By sharing knowledge and investing heavily in research, The GI Alliance (TGIA) empowers physicians to advance the field of gastroenterology and save more lives.
The first practice to join TGIA was Texas Digestive Disease Consultants (TDDC), where Dr. Weber served as President and CEO, from 1994-2018. Dr. Weber also serves as Medical Director of Lonestar Endoscopy Centers, with locations in Southlake, Keller, and Flower Mound. TDDC is the largest gastroenterology group in the United States, with more than 165 board-certified GI physicians and 70 locations throughout Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Fort Worth, Baton Rouge, and Thibodaux, LA. In the spring of 2019, TGIA expanded nationally with 55 physicians from the Illinois Gastroenterology Group (IGG), based in Chicago, IL. IGG will serve as the nucleus of TGIA’s Midwestern platform.
Dr. Weber graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Science and received his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and his GI Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Weber is a practicing board-certified gastroenterologist, with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease. He has been awarded “Doctor of the Year” by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of North Texas, “Best Doctors in Dallas” by D Magazine, and “Top Doctors in Tarrant County” by Fort Worth Magazine. Dr. Weber is on the executive board of the Digestive Health Physicians Association (DHPA).
