James M. Duncan DDS

Jim Duncan is a native south Texas, born in Corpus Christi, Texas and a graduate of Oklahoma City University with a BS in Biology. He then entered the Navy flight program and was commissioned Ensign and completed basic flight training at Pensacola, Florida, then advanced flight training at Kingsville, Texas. After receiving his Navy wings he reported to VS-38 in San Diego, California and spent one tour aboard the USS Hornet. He then separated from active duty and attended dental school at Saint Louis University graduating in June 1963. At which time he entered general practice for two years in New Mexico, but Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was always his passion and he was accepted and completed OMS training at Parkland Hospital and The University of Texas Health Science Center, Southwestern Dallas, Texas completing training July 1968. He maintained a general OMS practice in San Antonio, Texas until retiring in 2008. After a few months he joined the OMS faculty at The University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio where he serves as Adjunct Professor.

Dr. Duncan has maintained membership in State National Societies as well as The Academy of Osseointgration and is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists; he has published a number of articles, lectured in numerous foreign countries as well as state and national societies. He is past president of the American Cancer Society of San Antonio, Texas and remained in the Naval reserve and retired Capt. USNR-R. Dr. Duncan lives with his wife Catherine in Fair Oaks Ranch and has a combined family of seven children and twelve grandchildren living in Texas, Sidney Australia, California, New Mexico and Washington D.C. Jim and Catherine enjoy traveling and spending time with family. Hobbies include Golf, Painting, and Sculpting.
