James McWilliam, MD is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle orthopaedics as well as osteoarthritis of the hip, knee, hand, and wrist. Dr. McWilliam’s clinical expertise includes treatment of forefoot disorders including bunions and hammertoes, ankle instability and sports related injuries, arthritis, and posterior tibial tendon and adult flatfoot disorders. Dr. McWilliam has conducted clinical research on the improvement in fixation of ankle fractures, minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair, conservative and surgical management of heel pain, and arthroscopic treatment of cartilage disorders of the ankle.
He has numerous publications and presentations on arthroscopy, arthrodesis, Achilles tendon injury, and bunion repair. Dr. McWilliam also has sports medicine experience, which includes consultancies with USA Track and Field, USA Triathlon, US Air Force Rugby, and the PGA tour. He is team physician for the New Rochelle High School Football Team, 2003 New York.
