Dr. Roberts returned to his home state of Michigan to join Bronson Medical Group and the Clinical Faculty of the Western Michigan University School of Medicine in 2013. He serves as the Medical Director of Orthopedic Trauma at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and was chosen as the Outstanding Orthopedic Faculty instructor by the Orthopedic Residents in 2013-2014. He has taught throughout North America and in Europe as a faculty member for AO Trauma and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. He serves on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Trauma Evaluation Committee and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association Fellowship Compliance Committee. Dr. Roberts has been selected to the Best Doctors in America in the years 2015-2018. In 2016 he was named by Grand Rapids Magazine as one of West Michigan's Best Doctors.
Prior to joining Bronson, Dr. Roberts was an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin from 2008-2012. At MCW, he was chosen as the Outstanding Orthopaedic Faculty Instructor in 2009-2010. Dr. Roberts completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery at the University of California-Davis Medical Center in 2008. Dr. Roberts completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2007 where he was chosen as the Chief Resident for 2006-2007 and received the Leonard Marmor Surgical Arthritis Foundation Award. Dr. Roberts graduated from the Wayne State University School of Medicine with high distinction in 2002 and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1998 where he was chosen as the Outstanding Graduate in Biomedical Sciences.
