Dr. Jay Baumwol is an expert in the management of heart failure. His areas of interest include cardiomyopathy, advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, cardiac amyloidosis, and echocardiography (including stress echocardiography and trans-oesophageal echocardiography or TOE).

Jay graduated in medicine with honors from the University of Western Australia. He undertook his general physician and cardiology training at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney where he also completed a Fellowship in Echocardiography, and further trained in advanced heart failure & cardiac transplantation. He then completed a Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplantation at Toronto General Hospital, Canada, and also undertook further echocardiography training at Mount Sinai Hospital and Toronto General Hospital, Canada.

Dr. Baumwol is a Consultant Cardiologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital and St John of God Murdoch. He is a member of the West Australian Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Service at Fiona Stanley Hospital. He has presented at international conferences and is an active participant in clinical research.

His approach to clinical care prioritizes his patients' understanding of their condition, treatment options, and management plan. He currently consults from our Murdoch and Rockingham rooms.
