Jeffrey Bauman MD

Jeffrey Bauman, MD is an endocrinologist at Summit Health and served as Department Chair of Endocrinology and Metabolism from 2016 to 2020.

Dr. Bauman was among the first physicians in the nation to receive ECNU, an advanced certification in thyroid/parathyroid ultrasound and ultrasound-guided biopsy. He is one of the few endocrinologists skilled at in-office ultrasound for early detection of recurrent thyroid cancer. His refined approach to ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy results in minimal patient discomfort. He is also certified in bone density interpretation.

Dr. Bauman served as the physician champion on the multi-disciplinary Diabetes: Together 2 Goal® campaign committee at Summit Health, a campaign that focused on providing diabetes patients across the organization with the highest level of care to help them live longer, healthier lives. He is an advocate for patient-centered care and says, "I believe each of my patients deserves to clearly understand their condition as well as decisions about treatment. It's important to me that I answer my patient's questions and address their concerns."

Dr. Bauman was born and raised in New Jersey where he practiced as a pharmacist prior to attending medical school.
