Jeffrey N. Weiss MD

Jeffrey N. Weiss, M.D., the former Chief of Retinal Surgery at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, and Faculty of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Weiss was the youngest student to be accepted by the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center on full scholarship after three years of college. During his first year of medical school he also completed the course requirements for his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and graduated magna cum laude with distinction.

After his internship in general surgery and a three-year residency in ophthalmology, Dr. Weiss completed additional postgraduate training. His first fellowship was at Harvard University and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his second fellowship was at Joslin Diabetes Center and New England Deaconess Hospital. Three years later he was appointed Chief of Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Joslin Diabetes Center. Dr. Weiss is President, Retina Associates of South Florida.
