Jiu-yao Wang MD, DPhil(Oxon.)

Dr. Jiu Yao Wang is now a distinguished Professor of Paediatrics, and Director of the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Research (ACIR) center at National Cheng Kung University Medical Center, Tainan, Taiwan. After the clinical resident and sub-specialty training of pediatric allergy, clinical immunology and rheumatology in the National Taiwan University Hospital, Taipei, from 1984 – 1987, he has been appointed as Lecturer (1989), Associate Professor (1992), and Professor (2000) at College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan. He obtained Doctor of Philosopy (D. Phil) degree in the MRC Immunochemistry Unit, University of Oxford, United Kingdom in 1996. Dr Wang’s lab has been focused on the genetic, environmental, and immunological studies of innate immunity of allergic and asthmatic children in Taiwan for more than 25 years. These studies have produced more than 110 SCI papers and cited more than 2,000 times.
