Johanna Martinez, M.D., M.S., serves as the graduate medical education director for diversity and health equity for Northwell Health and is an assistant professor at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She received her medical degree from the State University of New York–Stony Brook and completed her internal medicine residency at New York–Presbyterian Hospital (Weill Cornell Campus). Her training also includes a General Medicine Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill and an M.S. from Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences at Cornell University.
She is currently completing a yearlong executive leadership program designed to tackle racial and ethnic disparities through the Disparities Solutions Center at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Most recently, she was selected to be a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar with the goal of becoming a leader in transformative change for health equity and communities. Dr. Martinez is a primary care provider who is committed to health disparities, women’s health, and community engagement within primary care.
