Dr. Floyd is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic traumatology and fracture care. He earned his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. After participating in a general surgery internship at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Chattanooga and general surgery residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, he completed an orthopedic residency at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York, as well as a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Floyd is an orthopedic traumatologist for the Hughston Clinic. Prior to coming to the Hughston Clinic, Dr. Floyd served as an orthopedic traumatologist in Macon, Georgia.
He Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Floyd is associated with various medical organizations and holds memberships in national and international specialty societies. He has published in major orthopedic and trauma medical journals and presents his scientific research at national meetings and symposiums. He plans to continue his research interests through the Hughston Foundation, Inc.
