John Hagen MD, FRCSC

Dr. Hagen is a graduate of the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 1979. An internship was done in Christchurch New Zealand before entering the University of Toronto general surgery residency training program in 1980. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1984. He spent a year doing extra training in the endoscopy in Japan and at the Middlesex Hospital in London England.

He is currently a lecturer in surgery for the University of Toronto. His interests are in laparoscopic surgery. He is the medical director of bariatrics for the Humber River regional hospital and is actively involved in the MIS fellowship training program for the University of Toronto.
