Dr. Jonathan Parker is a world-renowned educator on dental sleep medicine and a co-founder of the Sleep Performance Institute with Michael Howell, M.D. For 28 years, Dr. Parker served as a faculty member at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Over the course of his career, Dr. Parker has presented over 200 lectures nationally and internationally on the role of the dentist in the evaluation and treatment of snoring and sleep apnea using oral appliance therapy.
Dr. Parker works with multiple sleep disorders centers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, serving on the staff or as a consultant. He is well known for developing innovative techniques and protocols to improve patient care and treatment success for snoring and sleep apnea. He is an author on 12 research articles and abstracts evaluating the effectiveness of oral appliances used for treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Parker is a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and American Board of Orofacial Pain, as well as a charter member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. In 2003, he received the Academy’s prestigious Distinguished Service Award. He is immediate past president of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
