Jordina Torrents-barrena MS, PhD

Jordina Torrents Barrena received her Computer Systems Technical Engineering in 2013. She later graduated in Computer Engineering at Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2014. She obtained her first Master's Degree in Computer Engineering: Computer Security and Intelligent Systems at Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2016 and a second Master's Degree in Computer Vision at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2016. She started her Ph.D. in the SIMBIOsys research group under the supervision of Prof. Miguel Ángel González Ballester and Dr. Mario Ceresa in October 2016 on the development of a planning and navigation system for fetal surgery. Jordina was also awarded the prestigious Google Women Techmakers scholarship in 2017. Her research interests include image and signal processing, computer vision, medical imaging, computer-assisted / navigation surgery, machine learning, deep learning, parallel computing, and 3D vision.
