Jorge Francisco Trejo-gutierrez MD, MHS

Jorge F. Trejo Gutierrez, M.D., is a general cardiologist who serves as a consultant in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic Florida. He is interested in preventative cardiology and cardiac risk factors such as cardiorespiratory fitness, obesity, and the role they play in both preventing and managing cardiovascular disease. His clinical and research career has focused on the epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular disease in adult populations with an emphasis on atherosclerotic disease. Dr. Trejo is the Mayo Clinic Principal Investigator for the international ISCHEMIA trial which is comparing different strategies in the management of stable patients with angina, the typical chest pain experienced by patients with atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
