Joseph Borrelli is an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the BayCare Health System. He is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon who has been in practice for more than 24 years. During this time he has practiced in academic as well as community settings. Although originally trained as an orthopedic trauma surgeon his practice now consists of caring for severely injured patients with a variety of musculoskeletal injuries but also patients in need of total joint replacements including those of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. During his years as an orthopedic surgeon, he treated hundreds of injured patients with fractures and published more than 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous book chapters. During this time he had the opportunity to speak at local, national, and international meetings as well as to teach medical students, orthopedic residents, and fellows. Additionally, during this time, he has had the opportunity to provide expert opinions and testify in multiple depositions, mostly on the behalf of his patients as their treating physician. He has also been retained as an expert by both plaintiffs' and dependent's attorneys. He is available to review most orthopedic-associated cases and render opinions in an efficient and timely manner. He has a particular interest in hip fractures, fall-related injuries, osteoporosis, fragility fractures, and compartment syndrome, as well as total joint replacement and causes and treatment of nonunions and malunions.
