Dr. Joshua Rothenberg is a Board-Certified Rehabilitation Physician who is ACGME fellowship trained at the University of Pittsburgh in sports medicine, interventional spine, diagnostic/ interventional ultrasound, and regenerative medicine. He acts as the Director of Regenerative Medicine and Orthopedic Biologics for BocaCare Orthopedics and treats all musculoskeletal issues including neck, spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, hip, knee, and ankle/foot ailments. Dr. Rothenberg has experience in treating joints with a comprehensive individualized therapy program along with sonographic-guided platelet-rich plasma (PRP), prolotherapy, bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), and micro fragmented adipose tissue injections. He currently collects data and is involved in a national database involving these therapies. Additionally, he maintains professional interests in treating osteoarthritis as well as tendon pathologies using his rehabilitation background coupled with his ultrasound skillset and interest in regenerative medicine.

He received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Miami in Microbiology, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian of his major. His long-desired goal of becoming a physician-led him to the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He graduated with honors in the Top 10% of his medical school class and was inducted into the Psi Sigma Alpha Scholastic Honor Society in 2012. Returning to the University of Miami for training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, he served as the Chief Resident. During this time, he spearheaded two national projects to further the education of his peers. His most recognizable project is the Sports Review-Journal, a sports medicine journal indexed by the Library of Congress. He has also authored and is the primary editor of the book “A Beginner’s Guide to Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Upper Limb” published in 2016.
