Dr. Julia D. McQuade, Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Amherst College. Her lab conducts research examining the social experiences, behaviors, and peer relationships of children, adolescents, and young adults. Some individuals make friends easily, are accepted by peers, and are able to understand and respond effectively in social situations. However other individuals struggle in their relationships with peers; they may be teased or bullied, have trouble making friends, or have difficulty understanding what to do in different social situations. Her research examines the cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors that may relate to these differences in social adjustment.
