Karen is a Freelance Nutritionist. She worked for Tesco for over 27 years as Company Nutritionist and Head of Labelling providing advice and developing policies on nutrition and health based on the legislation and the available science and evidence. Primarily responsible for Nutrition, Health, Claims and Labelling policy for Food and Non-Food and developed the technical aspects of customer health initiatives such as the Tesco Healthy Living Brand, Front of Pack Labelling, Free From Brand, Sweet Free checkouts and the profiling scheme that underpins the Tesco Health Strategy.
