Dr. Karin Jordan, MD, PhD, is a Chief Physician at Ernst von Bergmann Hospital. She completed her medical studies at Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg. There she completed her specialist training in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology and obtained an additional qualification in palliative medicine. In 2008 she became "associate chair" of the working group (AG) supportive therapy in the AG internal oncology (AIO) of the DKG (German Cancer Society). In 2009 she habilitated on the subject of chemotherapy-induced vomiting in Halle (Saale) and was appointed a private lecturer. In 2010 she became a senior physician and two years later senior physician in the clinic for hematology and oncology at the University Hospital Halle. In addition, she was appointed adjunct professor in 2014. In 2017, Professor Jordan moved to the Department of Hematology as a Senior Physician, Oncology and Rheumatology at the University Hospital Heidelberg, where she also headed the working group of the Supportive Therapies working group. Since 2010, she has strengthened the board of the AG Supportive Measures in Oncology, Rehabilitation and Social Medicine (ASORS, now AGSMO) of the DKG.

She is a spokeswoman for the AG Supportive Therapy of the AG Internal Oncology (AIO) in the DKG and spokeswoman for the ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncologists) for the area of "supportive and palliative care" as well as the guideline responsible for the ESMO for the area supportive therapy. In 2020 she was appointed Educational Chair of ESMO. Professor Jordan is the author and co-author of more than 200 publications. Since 2010, she has strengthened the board of the AG Supportive Measures in Oncology, Rehabilitation and Social Medicine (ASORS, now AGSMO) of the DKG.
