Dr. Katie Gregory-Johnson is a licensed chiropractic physician in the state of Illinois. She is a cum laude graduate of National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL, where she earned her doctorate degree in chiropractic medicine. Dr. Johnson has also earned a Masters degree in Acupuncture and is a licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Illinois. She is certified through NCCAOM as a Diplomate of Acupuncture. In 2010, she began practicing in a naturopathic clinic for family medicine, where she worked for four years. She then began her own practice in St. Charles, where she treated primarily hormonal issues. Dr. Johnson has completed additional post-graduate training in infertility, hormonal imbalances, and internal disorders. In addition to clinical practice, she serves as a part-time post professional faculty member at National University of Health Sciences, teaching Acupuncture training courses.
Dr. Johnson believes strongly that a healthy diet is the cornerstone of wellness and that healing begins from the inside out. There is great healing power in natural medicine when individualized and knowledgeably applied. She strongly emphasizes nutrition and practical ways of implementing changes in everyday life. She has successfully treated a wide variety of conditions including infertility, menstrual irregularities, thyroid disorders, chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, mood imbalances, digestive complaints, headaches, and acute and chronic pain. As a licensed Acupuncturist, Dr. Johnson incorporates her training in Chinese medicine into everyday practice. In Chinese medicine, disorders occur as a result of imbalances or obstructions in the body. When a person is in optimal physical, mental and emotional health, the body's organs and systems function in harmony.
The stresses of everyday living, as well as poor diets, emotional disturbances and environmental factors lead to a steady decline of energy and eventually result in a disease state. The purpose of Acupuncture and other accessory techniques is to correct imbalances, increase energy and optimize function. In addition to Acupuncture, she is trained in the use of other techniques, including guasha, cupping, moxibustion therapy and tuina. Dr. Johnson and her husband welcomed a baby to their family at the end of 2016. In 2017, Dr. Johnson took a leave of absence from practice and is focusing on raising a healthy family.
