Prof. Dr. Keiki R. Mehta is India's leading Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, Medical Director & Chief of The Mehta International Eye Institute, Colaba, Mumbai, established by him, now considered to be Asia's most advanced and foremost Ophthalmic Institute. He is the Medical Director and Chief of the Mehta Charity Eye Hospital, Karja. Head of Eye Dept, Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. Appointed Professor of Ophthalmology at D Y Patil Medical College, Mumbai. Specializing in Intraocular Implants, Glaucoma, Phacoemulsification and Refractive Laser surgery. Professor of Ophthalmology, D Y Patil Medical College in 2007.

Prof. Dr. Keiki R. Mehta completed his Masters in Ophthalmology in 1971. He did his Diploma in Ophthalmology at the famed Moorfields Eye Hospital in London UK and the Diploma from Dublin Ireland. He has pioneered, in India, the commencement of Intraocular Implants, LASIK and Phacoemulsification Cataract surgery in 1997 for which he is known as the Father of Indian Phacoemulsification. Pioneered the Glaucoma Shunt surgery in 2004. He has pioneered the "Mehta Glaucoma Valve" in 2008 which has now become one of the most popular valves used internationally.
