She is a clinical cardiologist with experience in all aspects of cardiac care. She has a strong interest in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease including heart attacks, lipid disorders, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and exercise and sports cardiology. She is committed to providing excellent clinical care, working with her patients to achieve their lifestyle and occupational goals, from staying healthy and physically active to maintain a high level of exercise or work capacity.

In addition to being a clinical cardiologist, she is a cardiac imaging specialist with expertise in echocardiography, exercise stress testing, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT (calcium score and CT coronary angiogram). The second aspect of her Ph.D. focused on the effect of exercise on cardiac remodeling in elite athletes and occupational athletes. She has worked with cyclists (National Road Series), soccer players (A-league club), and kayakers (previous Olympic athletes), as well as occupational athletes such as army soldiers, whose work places high demands on the cardiovascular system. She was awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council scholarship for her Ph.D. and has published in international medical journals.

Dr. Stanton was awarded the Bryan Hudson medal for the highest achieving physician in Australasia for her specialist exams. Prior to starting at the Wesley, she worked at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and St George Hospital in Sydney, as well as the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
