Dr. Kemel Ahmed Ghotme, MD, Ph.D. is a Professor and Researcher at the Savannah College. He graduated with honors as a Surgeon from the National University of Colombia (UNAL), and later he specialized in Neurosurgery at the same institution. He completed a Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship at the University of Toronto. Additionally, he studied Bioethics at the University of La Sabana (UNISABANA) and Clinical Research at Harvard Medical School. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. studies in Translational Science at George Washington University. He has been a speaker in a large number of courses and national and international conferences and the author of different publications in international refereed journals.
br/> He has served as a professor of Medicine at the University of La Sabana (UNISABANA) and specialization in Neurorehabilitation at the Colombian School of Rehabilitation University Institution. Dr. Ghotme's extensive career has led him to be awarded the Honor Degree at the National University of Colombia and the Clinical Research Scholar Award, as well as the Group Project Award from Harvard Medical School, the Award for Teaching Innovation by the Technology Center for the Academy and the Humanism Award granted by the Santafé de Bogotá Foundation.

He has held the positions of Coordinator of Neurosurgery, and Academic Coordinator of Postgraduate Medicine in various institutions. He is an active member of scientific and trade associations such as the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, among others, and is a founding member of the Latin American Association of Pediatric Neurosurgery. Currently, he is the director of the Translational Neuroscience Research Lab and director for Colombia of Think First, an international program for the prevention of nervous system injuries.
