Dr. Kenneth Geller, surgeon and board certified specialist in otolaryngology, has had a long professional association with University of Southern California (USC), where he received his medical degree at the Keck School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Geller is the director of the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Academic and Advising Program, where he led the creation of an advising office specific to pre-health students across the university together with the integration of new and existing pre-health academic programs. In addition to his medical degree, he has a master's degree in education from USC. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Geller did a year internship in pediatrics and then into general surgical residency. He then went onto residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, at UCLA Medical Center followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. In 1998, Dr. Geller joined the Keck School of Medicine of USC as an associate professor of clinical otolaryngology. He also served as a clinical assistant professor of surgery/otolaryngology at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. During his career, he has served as vice chair in the Department of Surgery and the director of the Division of Otolaryngology and Communicative Disorders at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He has also been the coordinator of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Rotation for residents from Los Angeles County and USC Medical Center and UCLA Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency. Dr. Geller is also a fellow in the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck (FAAO-HNS), the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Geller has received numerous awards in his career including Lifetime Achievement Award, Children's Hospital of Los Angeles; Honorary Member, The Alpha-Omega-Alpha Medical Honor Society; Outstanding Teaching Award at the Keck School of Medicine; the Barbara M. Korsch, M.D. Award for Educational Research and the Teaching Award for the Division of Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA. He has authored many publications, journal articles, and posters during his career as well as giving innumerable lectures and classes on pediatric head and neck surgery as well as medical education during his career. Dr. Geller is originally from Queens, NY where he does not miss the New York City subways or the cold, snowy winter weather.
