Kim Benner, PharmD, BCPS, FASHP, FPPAG is a Professor at the Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy (MSOP). Practice experience includes 17 years as a Pediatric Clinical Specialist at Childrens of Alabama. Dr. Benner speaks and presents posters locally and nationally and is active in many professional organizations such as the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group (PPAG), serving as member and past co-chair of the research committee. The American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) activities include coordinator of the Clinical Skills competition and past judge, chair of the Educational Steering Committee of the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists and past chair of the Council of Therapeutics. At Samford University she is the faculty advisor for the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP). For the Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists she was Council Director, then President and currently serves as co-chair of the Student Affairs committee and Alabama delegate. Other professional organization involvement includes serving on ehe educational affairs committee for the Alabama Pharmacy Association. In 2013, Dr. Benner was appointed to the Board of Pharmacy Specialties Pediatrics Council for a three year term.
