Dr. Kirsten Gormly has international expertise in oncology imaging and pelvic MRI, specializing in rectal, prostate, and gynecological cancers, benign gynecological conditions, and female urology. She is the past Chair of the Abdominal Radiology Group of Australia and New Zealand (ARGANZ) and is actively involved in education and research. Dr Gormly undertook specialist radiology training in South Australia and was awarded her Fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2003. She completed a Fellowship year at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London before working as a Consultant at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. During this time she trained with Prof Gina Brown in rectal MRI and undertook subspecialty training in Oncology Imaging.

Dr Gormly instituted the use of MRI in staging cervical and rectal cancer at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and presented for several years at the RAH statewide gynecology oncology meeting. In 2009, she joined Jones Radiology and is Clinic Director of the Kurralta Park clinic. She is currently chair of the Jones Radiology Clinical Committee and external trials lead for the Research Committee, past chair of the Quality Committee, and maintains a keen interest in quality improvement in Medical Imaging. She attends general oncology, lower gastrointestinal, and urology multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.

Dr Gormly is involved in education and research involving pelvic cancers in Australia and New Zealand and is an honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer with The University of Adelaide. She was elected as a Corresponding Fellow of the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) in 2023, is a member of the Lower GI working party of the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG), and a member of the South Australian Prostate Cancer Clinical Outcomes Collaborative (SA-PCCOC) Research committee. She has several published papers and books and regularly presents at national and international conferences and workshops.

In her role as an executive member and past Chair of ARGANZ, she promotes collaboration between Australasian and International Abdominal Imaging organizations and between radiologists and other clinical specialties in Australia and New Zealand. Kirsten received an ARAD (Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance) for completing her advanced-level classical ballet exam in 1999 and continues an active involvement in classical ballet.
