Dr. Krishnan Swaminathan, MBBS, FRCP, MD The President of KMCH Research Foundation is a Consultant Endocrinologist at KMCH Hospital, Coimbatore. He completed his undergraduate medical education at Madras Medical College (1989-95). He completed his higher specialist training in Diabetes & Endocrinology from renowned centers including Guy’s & St.Thomas Hospital, London, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, and Ninewells Hospital, Scotland. He attained MRCP in 1999 and was awarded FRCP by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2009. 

He completed his Research MD in diabetes and endothelial dysfunction under the guidance of Prof Struthers, University of Dundee, UK. He has more than 40 publications to his credit in peer-reviewed international journals. He is an examiner for MRCP and is a keen teacher. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. to ascertain the role of environmental pollutants in the development of human diabetes in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He also has a special interest in thyroid disease in pregnancy and gestational diabetes. He has authored chapters in national and international textbooks.
