Dr LEE Jiah Min is a consultant in the department of minimally invasive surgery unit in KK Hospital since 2012. She had a 6-month HMDP training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan under Professor Lee Chyi Long in 2014. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with the degree of bachelor of medicine and surgery (MBBS) in 2002 and completed her postgraduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (UK) in 2007. Dr Lee is skilled in laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy and cystectomy and has dealt with difficult cases in endometriosis as well as complex adhesions from previous surgeries. Locally she has worked under the tutelage of Professor Bernard Chern. She does both conventional laparoscopy as well as single port surgery and natural orifice transendoluminal surgery (NOTES), which she picked up during her HMDP from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital under Professor Lee Chyi Long. She also does pelvic lymph node dissection after her exposure to laparoscopic gynaeoncology in Taiwan as well as her local exposure with the oncology unit with Dr Lim Yong Kuei.
Dr Lee practices contained power morcellation (in a morcellation bag) as well as abdominal and vaginal manual morcellation and vaginal culdotomy for fibroid specimen removal. She is also skilled in advanced hysteroscopic procedures eg transcervical resection of myomas and uterine septum. She believes that minimally invasive surgery should encompass vaginal surgery or natural orifice transendoluminal surgery whenever possible as it would be the route of least morbidity and pain and is the fastest route of recovery for the patient. She is a certified practicing colposcopist since 2013 till present and is accredited for LEEP (loop electrosurgical excision) and laser excision and ablations of cervical lesions. She has won silver in the SingHealth Service Quality award every year since 2012-2016 and also the KK Long Service award in 2015.
