Lourdes Mary Daniel MBBS, MMEd, FAMS, EdM

A/Prof Mary Daniel is a paediatrician, trained both in Neonatology and Child Development. She received her neonatal postgraduate training in Singapore and Australia and child development training in the USA. She has worked with high risk children in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) from the antenatal period through delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, childhood and into primary school for the last 30 years.

Till 2012, she headed the Neonatal Ambulatory Services in the Department of Neonatology and setup the childhood immunization and developmental screening programme for babies born in KKH. She is the past Director of the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Programme in KKH and is still involved in this area of research.
