Lydia was born in Spain but has lived and practised in London since 1990. She is one of the most respected specialist rhinoplasty and facial surgeons in the UK. She qualified at Barcelona Medical School and then received her higher surgical training in the North London Teaching Hospitals which included Charing Cross Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital and the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital. She passed the Intercollegiate Board Exam by all four Royal Colleges in 1999. She is accredited by the Specialist Advisory Committee in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has been awarded her certificate of completion of specialist training by the Specialist Training Authority of the Medical Royal Colleges.
Lydia was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in the NHS in 2001 at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, the National Postgraduate Teaching Hospital in the UK. She was appointed specialising in rhinology (nose surgery) which she has now done exclusively for the past 12 years. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer to the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, University College London and is a member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. As part of this academic work Lydia regularly lectures at national and international conferences and she has both published papers in her field of expertise and written chapters for text books. She has also undertaken work reviewing and casting her expert eye over scientific papers before publication and she takes on medico-legal work as an expert for septorhinoplasty surgery.
