Manjula Anagani MD, FICOG

Dr. Manjula Anagani is the HOD - Obstetrics and Gynaecology & Infertility Specialist in MaxCure Hospitals, Madhapur, Hyderabad. After completing her MBBS, Dr. Anagani finished her MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. To further excel in her field she underwent training in prenatal genetic evaluation, infertility, ultrasonography and in minimally invasive procedures (Hysteroscopy & Laparoscopy ) under the guidance of eminent doctors. She became the pioneer of the art of Laparoscopy at the time when Laparoscopy was still an emerging technology. Due to her commitment in her field, Dr. Agnani has worked on various projects including ergonomics of women and evolving newer techniques in Laparoscopy and minimal invasive surgery. She has also developed a new Entry Technique which helps in making the surgery less complicated and easier for the Surgeon. Dr. Anagani is also known for the innovation of a Neovagina using a minimally invasive technique to help those women with absent vagina. In May 2014, Dr. Manjula performed the World’s second largest fibroid removal surgery in which she removed the 5.1 kg fibroid present in the uterus.
Prior to MaxCure Hospital, she practiced at Apollo Hospitals Jubilee Hills, Care Hospitals, Yashoda hospitals, Somajiguda and BEAMS hospital, Hyderabad. She is also a Visiting Laparoscopic Surgeon at NMC Speciality Hospitals, Dubai and an Honorary Associate Professor at NTR University of Health Sciences. Apart from practicing at hospitals, she is also very active in conducting seminars.She has been a DNB (Directorate of National Board) teacher since 2006 and Faculty for Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education (EISA) and CeMAST (Centre for Excellence in Minimal Access Surgical Techniques). She has done expertise in the field of gynecological laparoscopy and has contributed to various scientific paper presentations in US, South Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Sharjah, and Italy. She is presently the Chairperson of Endoscopic Committee of OGSH (Obst. &Gyn. Society) and advisory member of Johnson & Johnson Ethicon, MSD, Bayer Zydus, Sports Authority of Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh Body Donor Association & Savithribaiphule Educational & Charitable trust.
