Prof. Maqsood A. Siddiqui received his PhD in 2008 from the In Vitro Toxicology Laboratory, Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), Lucknow, India. He has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, University of Louisville, KY, USA, since 2007-2009. Currently, he is working as a Professor at the Department of Zoology, College of Science, King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA. Prof. Siddiqui has a number of research grants from different funding agencies such as ‘The National Plan for Science and Technology’, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, King Saud University, Riyadh, etc. His core research activities are mainly focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of toxicity of various nanoparticles, environmental chemicals, pesticides, and new drugs with special emphasis on cytotoxicity, oxidative stress-mediated damages, ROS generation, mRNA expression of apoptotic marker genes involved in cell death by qRT-PCR & protein expression by immunocytochemistry and immuno-western blotting methods using in vitro cell culture and in vivo rat models. He is serving as an editorial board member of several reputed journals and expert Reviewer for a large number of well-known journals. Dr. Siddiqui has published more than a hundred research publications in International journals of high repute and has presented more than sixty research papers at conferences/symposia. He is a member of various scientific societies such as the Society of Toxicology (SOT) USA, the British Science Association UK, the International Society for Neurochemistry, the Saudi Biological Society, the Society of Toxicology India, the Indian Academy of Neurosciences, The Kentucky Academy of Sciences USA, the Middle East Molecular Biology Society, UAE, etc. He has been recognized and ranked among the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” listed by the prestigious Stanford University (2019).
