Dr. Marcia C. Javitt, MD, FACR, FSAR, FSRU, became the Director of Medical Imaging at the Rambam Health Care Campus and Visiting Professor of Radiology at the Technion Faculty of Medicine in 2014. Previously staff Radiologist at the National Military Medical Center and Section Head of Body MRI and of Genitourinary Radiology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, she is a fellow of the American College of Radiology, the Society of Abdominal Radiology, and the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound.
With more than 25 years of administrative experience as Director of Women’s Imaging, Body MRI, and Genitourinary Radiology at Johns Hopkins at Green Spring Station, University of Maryland, and George Washington University, Dr. Javitt trained hundreds of fellows, residents, and students. Dr. Javitt is the Section Editor for Women’s Imaging for the American Journal of Roentgenology and serves as a peer reviewer for Radiology, the American Journal of Roentgenology, and RadioGraphics, among many other journals.
She was the multiyear recipient of the Editor's Recognition Award with Special Distinction for excellence in peer review from Radiology, the 2008 recipient of the Alice Ettinger Award for lifetime achievement in the field of Radiology from the American Association for Women Radiologists, and was recognized with the American Board of Radiology Distinguished Service Award, on March 1, 2010.
