Prof. dr. dr. Marco Post studied medicine at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. In 2004 he started his training as a cardiologist at the St. Antonius hospital in Nieuwegein. In 2006 he obtained his doctorate at Utrecht University with a thesis entitled: “Shunt closure and migraine relief”. After his training as a cardiologist, he followed a fellowship in pulmonary hypertension and congenital heart defects in 2010 at the Gasthuisberg University Hospital in Leuven. Since 2012, he has been a staff member at the cardiology department of the St. Antonius hospital and in 2014 this was expanded with an appointment as a cardiologist at the UMC Utrecht. In 2020 he was appointed professor of Pulmonary Vascular Diseases at Utrecht University and he is still working as a cardiologist at St.
