Mary J. Scott-herring DNP, MS, CRNA

Mary Scott-Herring is the CRNA Manager of Clinical Education and Professional Development at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD. These institutions care for some of the highest acuity patients in the country, are US leaders in the total number of ECMO procedures performed, as well as liver transplants performed on the east coast.

Previously, she was the SRNA Clinical Site Coordinator at Johns Hopkins Hospital where she oversaw the clinical education of over 250 students from seven different nurse anesthesia programs. In addition, she provided primarily pediatric anesthesia for a diverse population with multiple genetic conditions and co-morbidities from the day of life and up.

Dr. Scott-Herring was one of only two CRNAs to complete an Armstrong Patient Safety Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institutes of Patient Safety in which she received the Elizabeth Martinez Fellowship Award. This in-name recognition is given to a staff or faculty member in the Johns Hopkins University Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine in memory of Dr. Elizabeth Martinez and her leadership and dedication to patient safety.
