Mauricio Silva De Lima MD, MSc, PhD

Mauricio is a VP and Head of Spectrum, US Medical Affairs. He holds a Medical Degree from Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, where he also did his psychiatric training. After many years of clinical practice as a psychiatrist and teaching in Medical Schools, he started his research training in Neuroscience and Mental Health. He’s got a M.Sc. degree in Epidemiology followed by a Ph.D. in Psychiatry at Federal University of Sao Paulo. He then undertook a Post-Doctoral training at Section of Epidemiology, Institute of Psychiatry, University of London, and became a member of the Cochrane Organization.

Mauricio has served as a member of the Editorial Board of several International Scientific Journals such as Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica, International Journal of Social Psychiatry and the Cochrane Library. Since 1998 he’s been an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Section of Epidemiology, Institute of Psychiatry, University of London. He is a a recipient of 4 international awards for original research in the areas of depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and drug abuse. In February 2010 he joined Roche to lead the Medical Affairs department in Brazil.
