Maya P. Raghuwanshi MPH, MD

Dr. Maya Raghuwanshi MD, MPH completed her Internal Medicine training from St. Peter's Medical Center-RWJ Rutgers and fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in Newark. She received her MPH in "Urban and Environmental Health" from UMDNJ, Rutgers, and NJIT. She has been cited as a 2019 Best doctor in Newark, Top Doc, and has been awarded Exceptional Women in Medicine by Castle Connolly. She is on the speaker's list of the New Jersey Academy of Medicine, has been awarded America's Most Honored professionals by American Registry, and has been cited in Strathmore Who's Who. She has published extensively in the field of obesity, diabetes, lipids, and hypertension. She has participated in "ALLHAT" which was published in JAMA & changed JNC 7 guidelines for the treatment of hypertension. She received an international grant for the "Ontarget and Transcend" study to improve diabetic heart disease.

She has formerly served as the President of the Student Government Association for School of Public Health, Division Director in Endocrinology, and as Associate Director of Diabetes Clinic. She was awarded the Fellowship of American College of Physicians and Fellowship in American College of Clinical Endocrinology. She served as the Vice President for the NJ AACE society for over 10 years & now is the President of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology-NJ chapter
