Merlin C. Thomas PhD

Professor Merlin Thomas is a diabetologist, working in the newly created Department of Diabetes at Monash University. He is a consultant physician in endocrinology and nephrology, who also runs a basic science laboratory. His research has been widely published with two hundred and seventy papers. He is also author of the best-selling books “Understanding Type 2 Diabetes” and “The Longevity List”. His ongoing research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of vascular damage in diabetes.
