Michael Hoffmann MD, PhD, FCP, FAHA, FAAN

Dr. Michael Hoffmann is a Professor of Neurology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, Orlando Florida. Dr. Hoffmann graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa (MBBch), residency training in Neurology was completed at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa and stroke fellowship at Columbia University, New York. He subsequently completed two senior doctorates, an MD in cerebrovascular medicine and PhD in behavioral medicine. He has since been the founding director of three stroke centers in Florida and held senior academic positions at the University of South Florida as Chairman of Neurology and Associate Dean of Academic assessment. He has authored over 100 peer reviewed manuscripts in both national and international journals, including two books. His main research and clinical interests include cognitive and behavioral neurological disorders, stroke and cerebrovascular disease, war illness and neuroarcheology.
