Prof. Dr. med. Michael Nitsche studied psychology and medicine at the University of Göttingen. Since 1999, the native of Brunswick worked as a physician in the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology at Göttingen. Among his research interests is one Epileptology, neuroplasticity, Neuropsychopharmacology, cognitive neurology and non-invasive brain stimulation. 2006 Nitsche received the Venia legendi for Neurology.
