Mike Paech occupies Australia’s only chair of Obstetric Anaesthesia, based in Perth, Western Australia. He has almost 30 years of experience in research, teaching, and most clinical aspects of obstetric anesthesia and acute pain medicine. He has published two books and over 200 articles; is an editor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and the forthcoming chief editor of the International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia. He has been active in the ASA, WFSA, and College in many roles, including organizing the NSC.
